4-H and Homecoming Scarecrow Contest
Help celebrate National 4-H Week and Jeff Davis County High School Homecoming at your local business! This year, the Chamber is hosting a Scarecrow Contest to celebrate these two events. Local businesses are encouraged to participate by creating a scarecrow or fall display outside their storefront (or inside behind a main window). Displays must include a 4-H component (shirt, sticker, etc.) and something related to the Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets.
All displays will be shared on social media for the public to vote on. First, second, and third place will receive a cash award.
Date and Time
Sunday Oct 6, 2024
Displays must be set up by the end of the day on Sunday, October 6, 2024. The Chamber Team will photograph displays on Monday, October 7. Judging will run through Thursday, October 10 at 12:00 Noon. Winners will be announced at the Navy and Gold Block Party in downtown Hazlehurst on October 10.
Location
All businesses located in Jeff Davis County with a store front are eligible to participate.
Fees/Admission
$10 for Chamber Members
$20 for Non-Members.
